What Teams Can Win The Sun Conference

posted in Uncategorized |

With a month to go in the regular season, the teams that can win the 10-team Sun Conference stands at a select few. The leading contenders right now are Embry-Riddle, who are on the verge of winning 30 games, and have dominated the conference all season, losing just two league games. The main competition of Embry-Riddle for the conference title is the Savannah College of Art and Design. SCAD has held their own this season, and while they have struggled outside the conference, they sit at second in the league standings and are still within striking distance of Embry-Riddle, with plenty of time left in the season. Outside of the top two teams in the Sun Conference, there is a group of mediocre teams that could still catch fire late in the season and make a run at the conference title. Those schools are Webber International, St. Thomas, Southeastern, and Northwood. Of those teams, the one with the best chance to threaten Embry-Riddle and SCAD is Southeastern. Southeastern has the second best overall record of all the teams in the Sun Conference, and they have won 10 of their last 11 games. SCAD and Southeastern are very much in the race for The Sun Conference title, but it won’t be easy taking it away from Embry-Riddle.
